You can’t just take a pill and make this disease go away, at least not now. That’s why no actual cure is available for it. However, there are certain medications that have proved so effectual for patients. Following are the drugs approved by FDA in the USA.

Cymbalta

Cymbalta was originally used to treat depression, anxiety and diabetic peripheral neuropathy. In 2008 it was approved by FDA. Dry mouth, decreased appetite, constipation, nausea, and excessive sweating are some side effects of this drug. It’s role in teenagers and children have not properly researched but it was found that suicidal thoughts may arise in some people after its use. That is why doctors are reluctant to prescribe this drug. But this should be kept in mind that some people also show positive response after its use. They point out that results are linked to the low level of serotonin in the body in many cases.

Savella

It was thought that this drug may be used to treat depression. But it was not used in U.S for this purpose. So some side effects were also seen including insomnia, dizziness, Suicidal thoughts, sweating, increased heart rate and high blood pressure, vomiting, nausea, and constipation. This drug came in market in 2009.

Lyrica

The very first drug approved by FDA was Lyrica. Originally it was used to treat diabetic peripheral neuropathy, seizures, and pain related to the shingles rash but now it is prescribed for the treatment of fibromyalgia as well. Dizziness, lack of focus, poor memory, weight gain, dry mouth or even swelling are some side effects of this drug. Allergies reactions were also seen in some people.
